Laura is Co-Founder of Residual and a Lecturer and Research Fellow at the University of Oxford, where she developed the university’s first executive course on carbon markets. She advises CIMMYT, the international non-profit managing the world’s largest climate-resilient maize and wheat genebank. Previously, Laura co-founded Oka, the world’s first Lloyd’s-backed carbon insurance syndicate, helping define how carbon risk is insured and priced. She was also a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s national institute for data science and AI. Her work sits at the intersection of science, markets, and long-term climate integrity.
