Mariam is a Climate Science Intern at Residual and a graduate student at Columbia University. She recently graduated from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business, where she studied Finance and Environmental Sustainability. As a Jeannette K. Watson Fellow, Mariam conducted international research in Switzerland and Malaysia, working with the United Nations and International Women’s Rights Action Watch Asia Pacific on the environmental impacts faced by women. Her recent work includes research on carbon export in the Sargasso Sea, as well as dendrochronology and carbon dating at Columbia’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. Her work combines scientific inquiry, field research, and a focus on long-term environmental outcomes.
